I'm a freelance editor, travel writer and copywriter based near Brighton in the UK.

I've written for various print and online publications, including the Telegraph, National Geographic Traveller, the London Evening Standard, Sunday Times Travel Magazine, Wanderlust, Cruise International, Club Life, Family Traveller, Virgin Money Magazine and others.

I’m an editorial consultant for Virgin Atlantic, writing, editing and occasionally commissioning travel features about the airline’s 20+ global destinations, as well as advising other departments in need of copy support. I’m also a long-term editor on a major lifestyle/hospitality project for a global search engine giant.

Copywriting clients include Expedia, Air Mauritius, Abercrombie & Kent, Virgin Holidays, London City Airport, Constance Hotels & Resorts, Mr and Mrs Smith boutique hotels and No.1 Airport Lounges. Branded content work includes projects for Eurotunnel, Andalucía Tourism and Visit The USA, among others.

I often work on a short-term consultancy basis with both large and small businesses, helping them to establish a blogging and social media presence. I’ve written and edited brand guidelines, tone of voice documents and HR policies for corporates, and worked with digital start-ups in the areas of content strategy, design, SEO and user testing. I also enjoy running small group training sessions for in-house staff who want to boost their writing and editing skills.

Travel and me

Since I was a child, travel has been a hugely important part of my life, even if it was only through the lens of music, books and films back then. I now specialise in the USA and try to see a bit more of it each year. I’ve also travelled widely throughout Europe, North America, Australasia, Southeast Asia, the Far East, and parts of southern Africa. And I happen to think few countries in the world are as beautiful as the UK.

I’m happiest writing about wildlife, landscapes, culture, music, design and architecture. I have a slight fixation with hotels and still feel the same buzz of anticipation whenever I put my room key in a new door. I’m rarely without my camera, and I can generally provide above-average shots to accompany an article. See my Photography page for examples.
